| Although the area of the Lower Keys is the least developed area in the island chain, a dive trip to the Florida Keys would not be complete without a trip to the Looe Key Marine Sanctuary, located about fives miles off Big Pine Key. This combination of outside and patch reefs hold about 150 species of fish and fifty kinds of coral formations. The sanctuary designation of this reef means that all spear fishing, tropical fish and shell collecting, and wire fish traps are strictly forbidden. |
