Greeting once again from the "Sportsfishing Capital of the World" Islamorada, Key Largo and the Florida Keys. Mother nature brought a load of rain the end of the weekend and washed out the backcountry fishing trips for this past Sunday and Monday, but not to worry, the for cast for the rest of the week calls for only a 30% chance of rain and we will be back to normal for this time of the year.
Out in the Everglades the Redfishing has been as good as I can remember, these fish are between 2 and 8 pounds and there are lot's of them !! Out in the gulf captain Donnie Benbow and I did a few group trips this week where we caught spotted sea trout up to 4 Lbs and Snapper up to 2 LBs, we also hooked into some BIG Sharks too. On the Florida Keys/Islamorada, Capt Donnie has been finding some bonefish when the tide is right.
Reminder: The spring Tarpon migration is on my Anglers minds and Captain Donnie and I are starting to fill our spring calendar up with trips to go after Monster Tarpon, now is the time to start planning your dream trip after these greatest inshore Sport fish there is!!.
Well that is what's been going on here in the Florida Keys. Want to get out on the water, give me a call or check out up dated daily photo's on my website.. Till then this Captain Ted Benbow asking you to "Keep it in the Shallow Grass"
